The king's servant was bringing the feather to the balance, when he had a devious idea. He got very little as the king's servant, but if he added some stones to the scale, he could take the extra money. Suddenly the dagger started felling heavier and fell straight through the servant's hands. The feather sunk through the ground as the servant's hands fell to the floor. The feather got buried where it wouldn't be found for years.
The feather remained buried for a long time. Eventually though, the feather was found. This time it was by a hunter of magical artifacts. The kingdom at the time was trying to ban magic and remove all magical artifacts from the realm. They were offering a reward for magical artifacts to destroy. The hunter dug deep, and picked up the feather. He looked at it and it was just a feather. He thought that the tracer might have been broken, but just in case he decided he would bring it to the monarch. The monarch looked at it long and hard, before casting a small spell on it. He had correctly identified the feather, and cast the spell so it wouldn't kill. He brought the feather to a bonfire along with millions of other artifacts. As he lit the fire, the feather managed to concentrate the magic into a single ember.
The ember floated away for a long time, before coming to rest on a window sill in a tower. To the feather's luck, the tower was inhabited by a magician. He recognized the magic in the ember, and used it to animate a servant. The magician asked the servant to be his scribe. The servant recorded spells of all types. During his free time, the servant wrote something for himself.

What a great read! Keep up with creativity!
Wonderfully creative. I loved the beginning and the idea that the feather would assume different weight.
